Cronan Creek Falls Track (~6.23 km one way; QPWS lists 12 km return) in Mount Barney National Park — the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service walk to Cronan Creek Falls, listed at 12 km return (allow about 4 hours) and graded Grade 4. It leaves from the Yellow Pinch trailhead at the end of Upper Logan Road: follow the track to the Yellow Pinch gate, walk through the turnstile and follow the management trail for 5.4 km. The falls are 100 m to the left of the management trail; look for the directional marker. Grade 4 tracks suit experienced walkers, so carry plenty of water, start early and check the forecast, as creeks rise quickly after rain. Remote area with little or no phone coverage: tell someone your plans, carry plenty of water and a map. Seasonal: tracks may close after heavy rain, in the wet season or during fire management; check Queensland Parks alerts before you go. Hot and exposed: start early and carry plenty of water.
