Butterfly Track and Round Hill Head (~1.71 km one way) in Joseph Banks Conservation Park — a walk from the town of Seventeen Seventy along the bush Butterfly Track to the Round Hill Head car park, then out along the sealed headland track to lookouts over Bustard Bay, the coast where Lieutenant James Cook's party landed in May 1770. Look for butterflies in the coastal scrub and whales offshore in winter. Sun-exposed on the headland: carry water and a hat. Hot and exposed: start early and carry plenty of water.
