Mickey Creek Gorge Walk (~1.62 km one way; QPWS lists 3 km return) in Carnarvon Gorge section, Carnarvon National Park — the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service side-gorge walk from the Mickey Creek car park, 4 km from the park entrance along the access road to the Carnarvon Gorge visitor area, listed at 3 km return (allow 1.5 hours) and graded Grade 3. Follow Mickey Creek into a narrow side gorge where the walk becomes a rock-hopping scramble; in places you can touch both walls with outstretched arms. Ferns, mosses and orchids cover the cool, shady walls, and timid swamp wallabies live here. Rocks can be wet and slippery. Return the same way. (Photo: Carnarvon Gorge walking track.)
