Tip of Cape York Walk (~0.65 km one way) in Pajinka, the tip of Cape York Peninsula — a short, rocky walk from the car park over the Pajinka headland to the famous sign marking the northernmost point of the Australian mainland, with views across the Torres Strait islands. Uneven rock underfoot: wear sturdy shoes and stay off the rocks in rough seas. Access is by 4WD in the dry season only (roads close in the wet). Remote area with little or no phone coverage: tell someone your plans, carry plenty of water and a map. Crocodile country: stay well back from the water's edge and never swim in creeks, rivers or estuaries. Seasonal: tracks may close after heavy rain, in the wet season or during fire management; check Queensland Parks alerts before you go. Check in at GPS points to earn ACTIVE Coins.
