Turtle Rock Circuit Trail (~5.67 km mapped circuit; QPWS lists 8 km return) in Davies Creek National Park — the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service summit circuit, listed at 8 km return (3 to 4 hours) and graded Grade 4. It starts near the toilet block between camp sites 3 and 4 in the Upper Davies Creek camping area and climbs steeply on loose gravel to the 936 m Turtle Rock summit, then descends a different ridge, follows orange markers across Davies Creek between camp sites 5 and 6 and finishes with a short walk back along the road. QPWS recommends it only for fit, experienced walkers: start early, never walk alone and carry plenty of water. Remote area with little or no phone coverage: tell someone your plans, carry plenty of water and a map. Hot and exposed: start early and carry plenty of water.
