Frequently asked questions

What is the best coastal walk on the Sunshine Coast?

The Coastal Walk in Noosa National Park is the best known. QPWS lists it at 10.8 km return (Grade 4, allow 4 hours), and the first 1.2 km to Dolphin Point is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

What are some easy walks on the Sunshine Coast?

The Picnic Creek circuit at Kondalilla National Park is 1.7 km (Grade 2), the Tibrogargan circuit in the Glass House Mountains is 4.1 km return (Grade 3), and the Dolphin Point section of the Noosa Coastal Walk is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers.

Is Kondalilla Falls an easy walk?

Not quite. QPWS grades the Kondalilla Falls circuit as Grade 3, 4.7 km, allow 2 to 3 hours, with over 300 stairs, so you need to be reasonably fit. The 1.7 km Picnic Creek circuit is the easier option.

Which Glass House Mountain can you walk up?

Mount Ngungun (2.8 km return, Grade 4) and Mount Beerburrum (3.5 km return, Grade 3) have formed walking tracks. The Mount Beerwah and Mount Tibrogargan summit routes are not walking tracks and need rock-scrambling experience.

Can I take my dog on Sunshine Coast walks?

Dogs aren't allowed in Queensland national parks, including Noosa, Kondalilla, Mount Coolum and the Glass House Mountains. Check council rules for local parks and reserves.
