Protesters Falls Walking Track (~1.06 km return) in Nightcap National Park — an NPWS Grade 3 out-and-back walk (NPWS lists 1.4 km return, 1 to 1.5 hours) from Terania Creek picnic area to Protestors Falls, named after the 1979 Terania Creek protests that helped save this rainforest. Elevated boardwalk sections lead through bangalow palms and native tamarind to towering yellow carabeen and strangler figs; listen for rose-crowned fruit doves and watch for pademelons. The creek beds are habitat for threatened frogs, including Fleay's barred frog, so please stay on the track and out of the creek. Return the same way. NPWS notes the area may close temporarily due to flash flooding during or after heavy rain. Seasonal: tracks may close after heavy rain, in the wet season or during fire management; check NSW National Parks alerts before you go. Check in at GPS points to earn ACTIVE Coins.
